|
|
hello.
Just wondering what life is life for expats living in Singapore.
Is it the kind of place where expats join 'clubs' to meet others, and
pay a lot of money to join sports clubs, etc..?
Is there savings to be had there?
It keeps coming up on my 'radar', so am considering a new contract there.
Any advice?
Cheers. |

1/: If you haved read all of the posts, you will realise that Singapore is a very expensive place to live.
2/: If you work at a scumbag language school, you may find that you will not have much time to socialise as ylou will be working on weekends and at night.
3/: What to do? That is a good question!
4/: Advice albeit unsolicited: Stay away from Singapore. You should check out Korea, Taiwan (possibly slipping now) and Japan (also slipping) |

Life for expats in Singapore = trips to Malaysia (e.g., Pulau Tioman) or Indonesia (e.g., Batam, Bali).
Boredom = staying in Singapore and walking around in the shopping mall-like atmosphere.
Don't chem gum!
Don't fill your gas tank up in Malaysia.
Don't don't don't...... |
