Greetings,

I just wanted to get the scoop on why AUC's posted their job posting more that twice on two of the same sites I visit (i.e., three posts on one site, and two posts on another site). I remember them only needing to post once back on 2005.

Am I reading too much into these multiple posts, or is there a reason why they're not getting enough applicants?

They have never done much hiring. But one change is that teachers can only stay for so many contracts now (can't recall if it is 2 or 3). That has led to a bit more turnover from the past when people stayed forever. Another is that with the move out to the new campus, many of the long time local teachers seem to have decided that this is the right time to retire. Others may have now decided that they don't like the new long commute. I am only speculating here, but I heard a few grumbles through the grapevine that this might be happening.

The website is still carrying the same ad that was up last summer. Perhaps it is a good time to apply. Cool

Thanks, VS. I'll mull it over.

If you are interested and qualified, I would apply in a minute. They are the best employer in Egypt, if not all of North Africa and the Levant.

I am interested and I feel I'm quite qualified. However, there's the issue of being mistaken for someone from a marginalized socioeconomic community within X Middle Eastern culture, and therefore treated like something that's fallen from the bottom of someone's shoe (An all too common occurance while I was working in the GCC, and it continues to happen to this day within the Middle Eastern and South Asian communities that reside in my local community here in the states).

Like I said, I'm going to have to mull it over (I facilitate writing/grammar classes online and I'm lovin' it like a Big Mac with fries.); but I appreciate your input.
