Hi guys,
As the title suggests, I'm looking to speak with an expat working (or has recently worked for) the MoE in seconday schools teaching subject English (not ESL/EFL).
I have two years experience in Jakarta and just completed my Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) back here in Perth (Australia).
I'm looking for accurate information about salaries, working conditions, hours and any other relevant information.
Thanks. |

I have just read an advert for secondary school teachers in Singapore.
Salary: S$2.8k p/m. This salary is for a person fresh out of university with no teaching qualification.
There is no further information on increments of pay with due qualifications and experience. However, I should imagine any increments would be marginal at best.
Sadly the advert does not say who the employer is. BEWARE!!

I'm only really interested in MoE information, but thanks for the heads up. From what I understand that salary is well below acceptable. I spent last year with no salary (studying) so I could earn a decent salary in a real school. |
