How many people here have had problems with their MPS contributions?
I negotiated mine at the interview, they prepared a contract, which clearly stated they would pay their share (employers) contributions then turned round and said "we don't pay MPS."
I explained, are you aware that, (a) it is clearly stated here in my contract that you will make the payments and (b) it is mandatory under HK law?
Yes, but we wont pay. Was the reply.
Well after politely explaining that I would turn the matter over to the MPF authorities they decided to honour the contract, but guess what, I just discovered they have underpaid me by 2 hours.
I am just curious how many other lecturers have had problems like this?

I am having a similar problem. The company claims that I am an independent contractor and so am not entitled to MPF payments. I am still waiting, two weeks later, for an answer from the MPF authorites. |

That is exactly what Colle Inti. Admin. tried to tell me. But I expressly negociated it during my interview and it was written into my contract by the college.
But still they tried to refuse paying it. What a cheek! Even though they knew it to be illigal!
Check the wording of your contract.
It is not just the 5% of salery, but the paper work you would have to fill out and time wasted if you have to payroll your own MPF.
May I ask how many hours a week you work for that college?
Also which college is it?
Finally what does your contract say? |
