Only places that really do that (for money you can make a living on) is universities. There are two in Christchurch: Canterbury University and Lincoln University.
However, NZ has a surplus of our own teachers all trying to find work of their own. Bugger off. |

LOL, that is just not true! NZ's pop is 4m, there are not 4m kiwis in Oz!
and there are quite a few schools in ChCh but the market is tight and student numbers are down |

Both of you are right - there are loads of Kiwi's in Oz but there are still 4 million in NZ.
I was one of those Oz Kiwi's and I left to find a better job with more pay, cheaper living, and stronger economy.......still want to go to NZ?
Christchurch??.....not the best place in NZ to start, the job market will be small compared to the north I think.
Good luck anyway |

I am sure you are right about the Kiwi population in Oz - maybe we could just make it easier and change Australia into another NZ island?!
I like the sound of 'West Island'
Hope you like Auckland |

ok here are the facts
At 30 June 2008, an estimated 521 200 New Zealand citizens were present in Australia and there are over 4,000,000 in NZ.
So there are almost 10 times more NZers in NZ than Australia

ok no worries, but that means more than 10% of NZ is here, and that's a lot. not to mention all the kiwis in the UK and other countries. although im keen to go to NZ for a while, and it looks like a beautiful place i wonder why so so many kiwis want out. |

I was proving a point
well, its slightly more than 8 and I did say about 10.
This is beside the point, but this whole thing reminds me of the number of Greeks. The 2nd biggest number of Greeks in one city in the whole world is Melborne Australia (after Athens) |

We want out because it is hard to make a living there, food and housing is expensive, and lots of social problems.....also it's a little insular country and we all want to see the world and broaden our minds! |
