Teacher - take note!
Students here are facing stress, just like we are.

Workshop on helping students facing stress

Common errors in teaching methods and appropriate leadership in schools were discussed at the third educational workshop of Al-Risala Secondary School for Girls recently.
The two-day workshop focused on ways to deal with students under stress, as well as creating and fostering mutual respect between teachers and students.
Jamila al-Shaabi, Al-Risalas director, told Gulf Times that the workshop aimed at improving the teachers methods in class, as well as introducing administrators to a better leadership for the school.
She pointed out that foreign support groups provided by most Qatars independent schools, to train teachers, have faced some criticism regarding introducing incommensurate methods in dealing with the Arab identity.
However, independent schools managements usually impose on the support groups to gain a large background about local and Arab identities before providing the training, she said.
If the training methods are not coherent with the society, the programme is usually dismantled.
Al-Shaabi explained that the workshop promoted the Supreme Education Councils licensing conditions.
Teachers should have acquired leadership and modern teaching methods, to make sure that an independent school gets its licence, she added.
Educational expert Zahra al-Thabi explained to the teachers the best behaviours to maintain a good and calm class.
She pointed out that the teacher should not form personal relationship with students, nor shout at them.
Al-Thabi also noted that a good teacher should dress modestly, adding that a female teacher should never wear trousers in the
classroom.

In the OP - where was student stress discussed at all? What types of stress do they experience? How can teachers help students?

Looks like the usual tossing a lot of jargon and buzz words without any substance behind it - glad I wasn't a teacher at that workshop.
