Hi guys,

I'm moving to Bucharest next week, and will need an English speaking vet VERY soon - I have two boy kittens who need neutering. Whereabouts in the city is largely irrelevant, as although my school is providing me with accommodation for the first two weeks, I have no idea where I will find a place after that. What's important is that people have had a good experience there.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!

Hi there,

I don't have any first-hand experience of vets in Bucharest but I've seen the following two mentioned on other expat forums:

www.marcovet.ro
www.daisy-vet.ro

Regarding accommodation, you could have a look on the following site to get an idea of rental prices in various areas:

http://bucuresti.neobizz.ro/cat/view/catid/3001/search/-/imobiliare-inchirieri

It's in Romanian but you should get the idea. The first word or two of the add, in capitals, tells you which area of Bucharest it's in. A 'garsoniera' is a studio flat which might suit you for starters. The number of rooms includes the living room, so '2 camere' means it's a one-bedroomed flat. You might also want to go for something 'mobilat' (furnished).

All the best,
Mike

Thanks Mike! I emailed Daisy Vet (I don't think the other is in Bucharest), and have already received a reply, in great English, saying they can help. From their website it looks like a good place too. Thanks again!
