Hello,
I am looking through the sea of schools in Prague. ITTP looks good. Any comments from locals or those with experience?
Have also looked at Language House and Akcent.
I am Australian and am hoping to teach in CZ/Germany/Poland.
Thanking you in advance. |

It's good to ask the question here, but you never know who's actually posting.
A better way of finding out about schools is...
1. Contact them
2. Ask to get in contact with recent graduates. A dozen sounds about right
3. Find out about connections in the area you're looking at.
4. Find out the specifics of post course/ job assistance
Make your decision based on that.
Cheers,
Chris |

Hello shevek77.
Thank you for your interest in ITTP Int.Cert TEFL/TESOL courses.
An Australian spelling 'valor' without a 'u'
Do you have N.American relatives?
I must agree with Mr Westergaard in that you never know who is posting on forum chat websites (or sending pm's) and that the best way of finding answers to your questions is contacting schools directly. It isn't unknown for competitive TEFL schools to 'prowl' the TEFL forum chat websites, posting either as excited TEFL graduates for their own program or disgruntled TEFL graduates for the competition ( ) .
It is essential to request student feedback but I am not sure if 'a dozen' is realistic. Is that a 'TEFL dozen' or a 'baker's' I personally feel it would be an encroachment on the privacy of graduates given that most courses run max of 14 students per course date so that would mean needing to ask every student on the course to be available for testimonial feedback (not to mention also the number of potential applicants who show initial interest in courses but who might not necessarily follow through with course purchase). Some clients are eager to pass on the good word but some clients (understandably) do wish not to be hassled by this aspect of company marketing. I for one wouldn't mind writing a nice review for a service which I had experienced, but wouldn't really feel comfortable if I was kept being asked to respond to potential customers through email or personal telephone call.
There are a couple of independent TEFL review websites out there and the following immediately spring to mind:
http://www.teflcoursereview.com
http://www.tefl-reviews.com
If you have any further questions shevek77 then pls feel free to pop me an email at [email protected]
Thank you for your time.
Alena
