Hi there,
Thanks for all the help that all the other threads and posts have offered. I have a question which does not seem to have been asked earlier.
I will be arriving in mid-August replete with a new CELTA and 6 years university teaching experience. I will be doing my best hustling to find a job and a flat/flatshare from 1 September, if not before. On the job front TESOL-France ads are being replied to and Les Pages Jaunes gone through. On the house front, appartager, seloger, and pap are being surfed.
Previously confident in my plans, I am suddenly panicking about les grande vaccances and la rentre universitaire. I have visions of closed schools and estate agencies followed by the flooding of the Paris housing market with house-hunting students who have parental guarantors in France.
Do these two successive traditions make late August a really dumb time to arrive and put my plan into action? Or am I just suffering last minute nerves?
Your local knowledge is much appreciated.
