Deicide, I thought you didn't want to teach - you don't want my job!
I've got 168 students at this precise moment (joy) Shocked

Shit man, no I don't want to teach but I also don't want to be on the dole. Uhmm...maybe it is just my perception but always just seems like you are living the dream...of those 168 students....57.3% of them are hot Dutch women in their twenties....all oogling the teacher in devout admiration....ah....what a life.... Wink

We're near the border and the majority of our students are German in most faculties. Further, one of our biggest programs is for Saudi pre-meds...Sititng with 10 Saudis is not exactly the scene our friend Deicide imagines.... Shocked

And, honestly, when you've got 168 +/-, you don't really notice any in particular. Further, it would be totally unethical to date any of these students, because we have a considerable power in terms of marks.

Ultimately, I'm married in any case. Oogling students is out Cool

Nyaah, man, picture me in November, teaching 38 contact hours (per week, I mean), and on top of that, I have 40 hours of marking to do in the same period. This implies that weekends are spent........maaaaaaaaaaaaarking. Dave's is my only real distraction just now.

OK, it's not always like this, obviously, but yeah....

Anyway, the gilt on our 'thrones' has revealed itself to be porcelain and I expect we'll all fall in pretty soon now in any case Surprised

But how many of those hot Dutch women are lesbian..? I have a soft spot for Dutch women as I lost something to one many years ago! The younger generation are also good linguists: she had good English despite never having been in an Anglophone country, Spanish, German, Schweizerdeutsch..

As for tipping waiters, I can only concur from an Italian perspective - we don't! Private tutoring would pay better, IMO.

Just goes to show that threads on Dave's have minds of their own.
How else could one move from how much one can earn as a waiter in Paris (a bit strange, to begin with) to discussing the sexual preferences of Dutch girls? Shocked
