Hola peeps!
I'm currently living in Chile after having worked a year at a university. I came through a program and was given a contract for year, and we're not allowed to work past that year. I'm looking for a new job because I want to stay for just a few more months. Any advice on institutions or universities in the area? I just had an interview at Comunicorp and I have an interview at a university tomorrow. What about Nortamericano? I haven't heard good things about that one, so I didn't apply. Any want to share their experiences with some institutions?
Thanks,
Smile

Comunicorp will be fine if it's just for a few months. They pay on time and all that jazz. Don't expect to make a lot of money there as you generally only have a few hours of class per day, but for such a short contract you won't find a lot of hours anywhere, especially in the summer months. In January and February it's almost a waste of your time...there are so few hours that you'd be better off traveling than trying to work for $200-300/month.

thanks. Smile yea, I'm not expecting to work much in the summer. It's just that they actually have work in January. I'll probably be here until July so I'm hoping to at least make a decent amount of money. I know you don't make much here teaching English, but I've done okay since the cost of living is pretty low. I wasn't sure about Comunicorp. I hear mixed things about it. I would prefer to work at another university if possible, but I think they will want a contract for a year.
Okay...thanks!
