Hola peeps!
I'm currently living in Chile after having worked a year at a university. I came through a program and was given a contract for year, and we're not allowed to work past that year. I'm looking for a new job because I want to stay for just a few more months. Any advice on institutions or universities in the area? I just had an interview at Comunicorp and I have an interview at a university tomorrow. What about Nortamericano? I haven't heard good things about that one, so I didn't apply. Any want to share their experiences with some institutions?
Thanks,

Comunicorp will be fine if it's just for a few months. They pay on time and all that jazz. Don't expect to make a lot of money there as you generally only have a few hours of class per day, but for such a short contract you won't find a lot of hours anywhere, especially in the summer months. In January and February it's almost a waste of your time...there are so few hours that you'd be better off traveling than trying to work for $200-300/month. |

thanks. yea, I'm not expecting to work much in the summer. It's just that they actually have work in January. I'll probably be here until July so I'm hoping to at least make a decent amount of money. I know you don't make much here teaching English, but I've done okay since the cost of living is pretty low. I wasn't sure about Comunicorp. I hear mixed things about it. I would prefer to work at another university if possible, but I think they will want a contract for a year.
Okay...thanks! |
