Hello All!
I have a few questions about a possible move to GDL in the summer of 2010.
For the record, I am a veteran Spanish and German teacher with two master's degrees (Spanish and Education). I have spent many summers in GDL as a grad student, so I have social connections and a nice place to stay in Chapalita. However, I still feel like I am flying blind because I never really travelled in ESL circles down there.
What kind of paperwork do I need? Apostilles?
What kind of jobs could I qualify for? (Assuming I get certified in ESL)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mil gracias.

You have a lot of qualifications. In private universities those bits of paper add up to more pesos the hour. You could try these places, especially as you're coming just before the semester starts (June/July).
You could get your feet wet in a language school but bear in mind that pay will be low with no benefits, though they are useful for getting a feel for the tefl scene and hearing about (better) opportunities.
I believe you'll need your tefl cert apostilled and maybe the degree(s) although (in SLP) immigration just check one apostilled document. It may be different in GDL. |
