Hi,

As I recall, you will be there on a tourist visa. I don't suppose that it is 'legal' but I never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it. Actually, there is little work in the way of private lessons. I never met anyone that was tutoring in the years that I lived there.

You were planning to visit some schools, so you may be able to find some students, but you wouldn't be able to support yourself for long. The cost of living there is probably more expensive than most of Canada.

Thanks V, for your reply. I should have asked you directly to begin with. My spring visit is only as a tourist. I hear that many families are interested in having their children learn ESL, but I wondered if they are interested in ESL tutoring. I am hearing so many wonderful things about this country that I am can't help but wonder if I might want to go back to work there someday. Since my work is "tutoring" right now, it would be nice to continue doing that if I went back there. I will do some asking around at the schools that I volunteer in. Thanks.
