Just a warning for all considering applying to this school. They have a lot of financial problems and are paying salaries to foreign staff up to two weeks late. Last summer they fired around 80 teachers in an attempt to save money. The apartment building they house the teachers in is run down and in bad need of being fixed up. Also, health insurance is non-existent. They let you depend on public health care. They will lose a lot of their foreign staff this year due to these problems. |

As a teacher working in Dogus Schools for more than 16 years, I would like to clarify the false judgements made by christmas, who obviously knows very little about the history of the institution or is biased due to personal issues he/she has had. The fact that Dogus University has laid off staff is not due to financial problems. It is because of the fact that the faculties have been employing more lecturers than the requirements over the last years. The teachers have received delayed payments for only twice during the last 16 years that I have been employed, and we have been notified that this is a temporary situation. All the devoted teachers and administrators of the school have full trust and confidence in the founder of Dogus Schools, who has been in the education society since 1974, and is respected and looked up to in the community. The condition of the accomodation that the school provides has never been an issue, unless your expectations are highly unrealistic. The staff apartment building is located in the walking distance to the school, and is fully furnished and efficient enough to make you feel like home. I would be more than happy to provide any information you need open heartedly if you are considering to work at our institution in the future. |
