Less than 24 hours until the 14th May. Are we all getting excited about this big announcement that's coming?
I will be looking for comments on here over the weekend |

| Same for me but having said that most of my mates have left already or recently resigned. I heard rumours that they've moved the payday without telling anybody. Nice one. |

it can't be a good sign for the place if all the TEFL trainers resigned on the same day |

| That is quite spectacular. Looks like the complete management changed in less than three months. New brooms and all that...? |

i received a panicked email from a local today, asking if i could find him an English teacher...
i asked why - he said he was giving up with Caledonian and needed a teacher from another school - in his words "Caledonian is in a mess"
is that a fair summary? or do we have any happier stories? |

| I think the fact that people stopped adding to the thread says it all. Nobody can be bothered anymore. Bit of a shame, really, but I suppose it's what the new owner wants. |

they do have lovely adverts on the screens on the metro though. AND Tutor have adverts there too! Must be costing a pretty penny. Who said there's no money to be made in language schools? (even after tearing apart your main money-making project, the TEFL program, in one of the more bizarre decisions i've been privvy to)
my infrequent jibes may have to end as my last insider leaves soon, moving on to bigger and better things. or, at least, slightly more morally-reputable ones.
might be a good place for the newbie teachers, as i hear second-year teachers are being given Senior Teacher status |

|
|
Just to update on life in Caledonian, last month they 'forgot' to pay me, now this month again they 'forgot' to pay me.
They screw millions out of their clients every month, often demanding payment for several weeks lessons in advance and yet when they have to pay us up to 40 days after we've provided the lesson they still cannot manage it. I do not know how anyone will be able to complete a whole school year there in the future without wanting to bang someone's head off a wall.
I've been there 4 years now and there have been no improvements to the teachers' room (or cleaning) in this time and only a few books have been added to the library so they cannot even say that they are providing a satisfactory workplace for their staff.
Anyway I'm heading back to the UK next week but I feel sorry for the teachers that I'm leaving behind as so many of them feel undervalued and that this job is just a stop gap while they look for something better or get a bit of experience, this is not the way to run any business. |

| If a school doesn't pay you for a month leave. It's that simple, just leave |

their TEFL course never made them any money. Why would you think that? The only reason why they ever had a TEFL course was for recruitment. Their language contracts probably generated 7-10 times what they made with TEFL |
