[Qualified Teachers]

My wife and I are have been teaching in the public school system for some time, 11 years. Presently we are teaching in the Arctic, Canada. We have a dream to teach somewhere with a warm climate. As for the money issue, as long as we can make eneogh to pay the day to day bills where we were. We wqere hoping for long term.

Our goal is to have something for the 2005-2006 school year. I've done extensive Internet research but still need some guidance/suggestions.

Would we require to take a ESL/EFL course? I'm a high school English teacher who's also had seven years of experience in grades 7-9. My wife has four years experience in grades 2-4

Any suggestions as to where the best job posting are?

Is there anything that I may be forgetting, so that we can get that important interview for a "Dream Job"

If you wife and you wish to teach in the equivilent of a public school, then you may not need TEFL qualifications.

If you want to teach English then you would be advised to do a TEFL certificate.

Best thing to do is check out the adverts for vacancies in the countries you want to live in and that should give you a good idea of the local requirements.

There are many schools in warmer climes interested in teachers with what I imagine are your qualifications.... You might try www.iss.edu for the next International schools recruiting drive near you. The pay might not be so grand, however.

And where in the Arctic? I have fond memories of driving up and down the Al-Can in all 3 seasons (winter, not quite so friggen cold, & 'tourist').
