I have a MA TESOL and have taught at universities in both Japan & Korea.
What are the chances of finding teaching jobs in Singapore at the university/college level with the background that I have? |

What's wrong with your current Japan gig?
True, I've never taught in Singapore but I would think with its high COL it would have to be a mighty great contract to compensate for that. And over the years, I've never heard of flocks of barbarians flocking to Sing. for great gigs without a PhD, etc.
But hey, that's just me. |

Nothing is wrong with my current contract in Japan, but we do have a limit to how many years you can teach at each place - fairly standard in Japan.
One of my friend's told me about a position in Singapore..or that one was available. So it made me a bit interested to consider the possibility anyways.
Yeah, I also asked out of curiousity in a few other forums..and I saw the above poster asked about my current situation in Japan on several of the inquiries.
All good here, just contract limits. I'll probably stay in Japan, but I'm always curious about examining all of the possibilities. |

Surely the cost of living in Tokyo is significantly higher than that of Singapore?
Also, isn't it true that ESL salaries there have remained almost static for a decade? |

The regular language institute are stagnant at around US$2,500/month. (250,000yen).
Universities in Japan have a fairly wide range well above that though. |
