I am hoping somewhere give me some advice here. I am thinking about going to Kuwait. I would like to know if i am able to bring my (Thai) girlfriend with me. I understand there are such things as visit visas and the like but have no idea how they work.. |

I'mnot well qualified to answwer as I have no first hand experience of Q8 but I would be VERY surprised if you were allowed to bring a 'dependant' (ie non working) girlfriend to accompany you. Get married first. |

By all means, get married first. She will *NEED* that legitimacy (pardon the term) for social reasons - badly. If you aren't willing to do that, I'd suggest that she find herself another borefriend.
You'd do well to gain a greater understanding of how the culture views male-female relationships and people who hail from poorer Asian countries; leave the mechanics of visa processing for later. |

When you bring her into Kuwait do not forget to bring with you a few kg of coke and heroin. And a case or two of liquor. Just tell the guys at customs. They understand human weaknesses. |

And some firearms and live ammunition too.
As I said the authorities are understanding of our foibles. |

This is the pedantry police. You are all under suspicion of mis-using "take" and "bring."
The original poster should have used "take." Those of you who are replying from inside Kuwait should use "bring," right? Or are you referring to bringing someone from one geographic region to another?
Maybe I shouldn't take this up. Maybe I should bring another tablet. |

Well I am in the GCC and I consider Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to be one place. Besides as a Celt I have a different way of using "take" and "bring".
I really do hope this guy tries to import his grirlfriend, the dope, the booze, the firearms and the ammo.
I suppose when he is arrestd he will complain to Amnesty |

In Irish and Scots Gaelic there is I think no distinction betwen "take" and "bring" so speakers in Ireland and the Gaeltacht of Scotland often use these words interchangeably.
Actually the Galeic speakers in my family are all 4 or 5 generations back. |

In many cases it was physically beaten out of our ancestors, and not so very long ago either.
I'd gladly give my eye teeth to be able to speak Gaelic. Methinks my next holiday will be a residential course somewhere on the west coast. |

It looks as if "dave1" has been scared off by all you guys telling him to bring in firearms, ivory, dope and booze as well as his lady friend.
Really you ARE naughty - especially you, scot47 ! |
