Hey folks,
I'm a university student with a TEFL certificate and past teaching experience and I am looking to teach EFL in the Czech Republic. It seems that most of the schools I have found and contacted on the web only offer 9-month placements during the school year.
I was wondering, has anyone here ever taught EFL in the Czech Rep. during the summer between the months of May to September? Are such jobs available, and if so, could anyone kindly suggest any avenues in which I could gain more information about this? I'm kind of at a dead end here and I'm fresh out of ideas. I taught in the CR (in Prague) a few years ago. Summer jobs were scarce, but there were still a few to be found. I told my school that I was planning on sticking around over the summer, but it was probably May or even June before they knew exactly how many classes they would be offering and how many hours I and the other summer teachers would get.
You may want/need to just start contacting individual schools, but be prepared not to get very firm responses yet. Sorry--I wish I had more positive information for you!
