Is it possible to make a living wage in the UAE to support a husband and infant? I have a BA in History with a teaching certificate, and MS in International Studies with TESOL courses as part of the program, and also have tutored ESL through Literacy Volunteers of America. We would like to live in the Middle East, and from what I have heard the UAE seems to be the only viable option salary - wise. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? I have already applied at several schools am am patiently awaiting their responses.

Look for positions in the various intensive English programs for the Universities. My wife and two children live very well with just one salary.
Of course, keep in mind I work at AUS.
There are, of course, horror stories. |
