can you get these without a contract or prior to being "hired"?
i saw where a guy posted he got his from miami then went to colombia and found work within 3 weeks. this implies he didnt have a job linedup before he went. |

As far as i know, that is wrong information. You cannot get a work visa without a contract from your employer in Colombia. The Colombian government isn't giving you permission to work any job you want in Colombia. They're giving you permission to work one specific job with one specific employer. |

Yeah, the actual visa you receive in your passport has the name of your employer. If your employer changes you are required to go back to DAS (or MRE), and I presume re-do the visa process all over again. |

It's impossible to get a work visa without being employed. In order to get one you have to have an employer sign on as a sponsor. |
