Work visa = not gonna happen. |
Why not? I have known of several places where if you get employed, they sponsor you for a work visa/permit. And have known people who got those. |

When taken out of context a person like you can make any statement appear incorrect ....
The post you quoted out of context from was in reply to someone who was working on-line (and therefore doesn't qualify for a work visa) looking for an extended stay in the islands.

Where is a good place to live to use Skype for your work?
Where can I find a good internet connection and get a USB internet stick for backup? |

Skype connections will be steady if you have a proper cable Internet installed in your house already. Around any big city USB/wireless connections are fine but you need to have a Sun USB as a back up. Smart/Globe are miserable. |

Native or not native speaker will be decided by the school and they have their own criteria. In case of Russians and Chinese, they have a problem seeing non white non Anglo people as native speakers even if citizens of Anglo countries. The problem really comes from students who, by looking at the person in the Skype window exclaim: Is this an American? Is this person British? Is this an American name? Is this a British name?
Many people do not care but many do.
So, you have to play it by ear. Sometimes one has to lie to fight the discrimination. One can say that one was born in the US and is a half American.
American/British/Australian etc. in most people's eyes is a blond John/Jane Smith with that country's passport born and raised there. |
