Hi everybody!
I just joined this site and I was wondering if some truly appreciated advice could be given.
I am a native English speaker Canadian looking to go to teach in Italy for a year before starting my Masters in 2011. I am interested specifically in Rome, having a boyfriend and friends in the city. I recently completed my undergrad specialized honours in English as well as my TESOL certificate in 2006. I have been teaching fulltime and as a substitute teacher at a language school here in TO for the past year. I am also lucky enough to have both a Canadian and Italian passport, and fluency in Italian.
If any teachers are currently teaching in Rome, could you tell me how my prospects are looking for finding a decent teaching job in Rome? I have started sending resumes but I'm afraid my year of experience may not be enough. As well, if anyone knows of any particular schools with a good reputation that they either have taught at or know about, that information would be truly appreciated!
As mentioned, any advice for a newbie going overseas is really valuable for me right now.
Thanks in advance! |

Hello,
I lived in Rome and worked for a few different places. If you still need advice - I see this post is a few months old - then contact me at [email protected]. (not being rude, just don't want to go on and on about stuff if you are now nicely settled in and any advice would be redundant!)
