I am planning on teaching in Brazil some time next year but I still need to get my TEFL certificate.
When do you all think is the best time to go? I hear the peak hiring season is March- August. Have any of you found work in other months?
Thanks everyone! |

In general, for the language schools in Brazil there is no "best time" if you are a native speaker with a CELTA. Finding employment would be rather easy I imagine (making a decent salary is another matter) However, there is a worst time and that would probably be from about mid Dec to mid Feb. |

Hi alexandra,
Im heading out to Rio in mid-January to see what I can find. I've heard the rumours like yourself about the peak/non-peak seasons but I figure I can only go, try, and make the most of it. I'll try to update the forums with progress if I can.
When are where were you thinking of travelling to? Im keen on meeting other gringoes once im there: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=86463
Cheers,
