Hi all, My fiancee and I are in planning for our working holiday to Italy in late April 2005. We have EU passports, I am currently a teacher here in Melbourne and we are undertaking TEFL accreditation. What I would love is info as to searching for available teaching positions..how early are jobs advertised.. how easy has it been for others in similiar positions..? Looking forward to it heaps, just want to get some info to start planning..?
Cheers.. |

Hi Joe
Most of the teaching work is freelance, which means it's a little difficult to find work in advance. However, you could send out your CV to a few places before you arrive, saying when you will be available and trying to set up an interview. You may not get work straightaway, but at least you'll be on someone's books.
If you have TEFL and some teaching experience, you should be able to get work. One problem with Rome, at least, is that you might be doing a fair amount of travelling between companies or schools. There'll also be some slack times: Christmas and August, in particular.
Good luck! |
