I am currently teaching English in north Italy and the requirement to have EU passport or visa for Italy is so you can be working legally. It is not really important whether the school is international, American or Italian, if you want to work here, you need to have a proper permit to work such as EU passport, working visa or a residency. During the summer there are camps where you can work and they pay you something like 250 euro per week. However, they give you this money as a contribution at the end of your contract and they call the position a volunteering one. These camps do not require EU passport or a visa. Other than that, you really need a visa to be here because first of all without a proper visa you can't even stay pass the 90 days. |
