I'm so excited to be offered a position with L Central in Singapore!
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this company, has worked for them before or has any experiences with them? I want to make sure that things are as good as they seem before making the move over from Japan.
Also, a a first timer to Singapore does anyone have any advice or warnings about what to look out for in a contract?
Any advice would be really appreciated |

Any information about this organisation or other reading/literacy centres? I noticed they're advertising for teachers again.
How about it Yorrick? Did you accept the position? |

I had a great experience at LCentral.
These centres are franchised so I guess it depends on the owner of your centre.
The thing that struck me most was how ORGANISED everything was. I was trained by the Head Office and given a lot of support. Once I got out into the centre, it was possible to get a little bored of the curriculum as everything is set. That said, I enjoyed Singapore and had a life outside of the classroom so the zero prep time made a big difference to me.
This is not an ESL position - curriculum is set therefore well suited to inexperienced teachers.
Up to 30 teaching hours a week - up to 10 classes on weekends - is tiring.
Great pay and bonuses.
In my case, understanding bosses, made great friends, got to travel around Asia on the Singapore $.
Although it was time to move on after my 2 year contract, I have stayed in Singapore and am grateful for the time I had with this company. |
