Do you at least know the student's full name? If not, nobody can help you--it would be like me writing to a Canadian ESL forum and asking a bunch of strangers if anybody knew what happened to "Glen"....

Yes we know the family name and father's name and the school in Nelson, BC has a list of names for all the students and teachers. Yes, the public boards I've found online do require reading and writing Japanese. Hopefully someone in Nelson has this ability.
