I had a Skype interview with Lindsay from Intercultura for the semester starting mid-July. Although I'd really set my sights on Intercultura, especially after reading such positive things from alumni and learning more about the school, it was hinted that I probably won't get hired for a full-time position. Instead, I think I'm being considered for part-time work on the weekends (only about 6 paid hours a week).
My question is whether anyone with more knowledge of Heredia thinks this would be a good deal for me to accept. I've been volunteering as an ESL teacher here in the states for over a year and have my TEFL, so I'm wondering if there are other schools in the area I could find work at. What other schools would be good to look at and is it likely that they will be hiring mid-July? Is it feasible to search for work in San Jose during the week?
Also, could anyone who knows Intercultura tell me more about the hours available. How realistic is it for a part-timer to expect to receive additional hours over the course of the year? Being part-time, would I be able to take advantage of any of the benefits at Intercultura?
Thanks in advance. I know I have a lot of very specific questions, but I'm hoping someone on the ground has a lot of very specific knowledge. |
