|
|
| I've spent a ridiculous amount of time on the internet trying to find a flat in Ljubljana. The only sites I find are for vacation rentals. Can anyone give me an idea of how much per month it is to rent a one bedroom flat, not necessarily in the center of the city? Also, just how expensive are necessities - food, utilities, clothes, etc? I haven't been able to find an active expat forum for Slovenia, either. Thanks in advance for any info! |

I found that food, clothes, transport and hotels cost much the same as in Germany i.e. cheaper than the UK but more expensive than countries such as Poland.
I can't help you with your question about renting a flat. Another poster recently had a question about Slovenia and I suggested that she do a search for Slovenia on Dave's and then PM posters who work/have worked there. |

It's a VERY small expat EFL community there. You are unlikely to find many people who can help you directly...
I hear from friends in the region that Slovenia in general is pretty equivalent to neighboring Austria in terms of prices. |

| Thanks a lot, Rafaella and Spiral78. I think the expat community in general is really small there, hence the lack of active online forums/groups. I'm going to check it out in person in a few weeks and wanted to try to get an idea. |

| Good luck! It's a beautiful place. If you're planning to teach English there, you might find the threads on Dave's about Slovenia to be of use. I'd be interested to hear what you find out when you get there. |
