Hi all, this is the second email I've received from a Chinese doctor living somewhere in England. The doctors names are different and I didn't follow up with the first one I received last year. Coincidentally, both of these responses came shortly after posting my resume to Dave's ESL Cafe (both this year and last year). Ok, so here's an email from a "doctor" (who couldn't be found in google), which was sent to me today:

Dear [addressed to my full name],

I am Dr. Delun Manchu a native of Zunyi in Guizhou Province of China. I worked with Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital in Guiyang before I relocated to Liverpool, England a months ago and right now, I am in search of a professional International English Language teacher who can teach my Wife, Meili and my 2 kids, Nuo and Niu English as a foreign language.

My wife and Kids are my treasure so I offer to pay you 3,000.00GBP if you will take up this position. I will provide you an Accommodation, furnished with a Plasma TV, and Internet Ready destop computer. A vehicle will be available also for Mobility if you can Drive.

I need your updated resume for me to discuss more about you with my family and also talk to your references. Applicant Must be willing to relocate.
Hoping to hear from you soonest, Cheers and God's blessings

Regards,
Dr. Delun Manchu,
231 Athol Street,
Liverpool,England,
UK, L5 2QX.

***thanks everyone and I would like your feedback.

Jacob

I can't help but be skeptical about any e-mails that promise a 'gift' of a large sum of money. Invariably, they tend to be methods of gathering personal information for some clandestine, evil purpose, like raiding bank accounts or ID theft.

Besides, he could get hundreds of fluent English speaking teachers without having to secure their employment for 3000 GBP.

Oh, and I forgot to add...avoid letters requesting help in transferring funds from countries like Nigeria, Belarus, and such for a handsome fee...johnslat summed those up quite succinctly.

Old joke

Man who won lottery to advisor : "What should I do about the begging letters ?"

Advisor (who may be a Scottish accountant) : "Keep sending them out."
