I currently work for a private school in santiago, a standard 25 hour contract and get roughly 850mil per month (720mil after tax). I'll finish my first year contract in December, but for scheduling problems I cant stay with my current school.

So I'm planning to come back to santiago (from england) on a tourist visa and try to find work elsewhere. Working at other schools, privately, or a mixture.

How easy should it be for me to maintain my current income? I know there are plenty of places hiring here. But I have no idea if 720 luca a high or low income for a teacher here.

I have a couple of private lessons and get 15mil per hour for them, which is actually double what my school pays per hour. But its only a few hours per week, and I doubt I could find many more at that rate.

that would be a very GOOD (i.e. high end payscale) FULL TIME job in valparaiso/vina. Santiago pays a lot more, i know. Most people I talk to there do make that much, though its usually after some effort....start your job search asap, perhaps the schools in the same network as the one you were working in would be a great jump start, the other employees should have tons of contacts which you should be able to use given you say youre only leaving for scheduling conflicts.
