Hi --
Here's a question. I have some interviews coming up for teaching jobs. If I am asked if I was active in my department with anything other than teaching, is it a good idea to mention that I was my department's union steward, or would that just make them think I'm some sort of troublemaker?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Where are you applying? I presume somewhere in North America?
I probably wouldn't mention the union steward bit, personally. Unless I could put a very heavy 'negotiator' spin on it, making it applicable to effective (international) comunication skills. |
