In beginning thanks for taking the time to read this.

Here goes.

I am looking to relocate to HK and am in need of some advice regarding finding teaching jobs.

Here are my qualifications:

Native speaker

I have 2 BA's and a M.Ed (Masters) degree in University Educational Administration from a US uni.

120 HR TESOL Cert (Online)

3.5 years of teaching English in a Chinese Mainland uni near Beijing. Basic, Advanced and Hospitality English.

A number of years and students teaching private lessons.

I have 5-7 years of other professional work in universities with Student Services and other organizations.

I also speak fluent Spanish as well as intermediate Italian.

**************************************

1. What are my chances, and what would you recommend to improve.
2. Is it even worth applying for the NET program. Is it not too late this year.

I have plans to be in HK in two weeks and am thinking about doing some foot work. Where do I even begin?

Is it really the best idea to just take anything at the beginning and look for other opportunities while there?

Recommendations and suggestions appreciated.

Check out some online job sites for teachers.

I hear that applying when you're there can be a bit troublesome because of the visa application taking several weeks and the fact that you wouldn't be able to work without one. I got my visa before I arrived so I can't speak from experience.

You're too late for the EdB NET scheme but there should be some short-notice jobs available in non-NET schools. Whether or not these are the sort of jobs you want to go for is up to you.
