Dear all,
I find it mightily ironic that this school has already opened vacancies for the 2011/2012 academic year.
The same recruiting powerhouse that, three days before teachers are set to fly to Poland, having signed a contract three months beforehand, booking flights and preparing everything else, decides to send a quick email to inform them that they cannot come to Poland because there will not be enough students. What a load of cobblers.
Mr DOS, it is not a smart idea to recruit too many teachers incase a couple pull out at the end. That is what you did, and one day you may be bitten on the backside. Furthermore, why did you shy away from writing back to the 'victims' and perhaps reimbursing them for their flights? It was the least you could do.
Beware those who are thinking of applying.

So did this happen to you personally? Recently?

I once applied for a job at Lang.

Quite why anyone would fly to Poland for a no-name school in a no-name town is entirely beyond me.

On the contrary. LANG is a pretty big school, their headquarters are in Warsaw:

I worked for LANG once. It was one contract in Wroclaw and it was awful, I eventually quit. One of the worst contracts I've ever had.

What happened to you doesn't surprise me. That place is like a factory, cranking out as many lessons as possible, no matter how their teachers are treated or how poor correspondence is with them, whatever, as long as the company is turning a profit.

The majority of schools in Poland are downright sketchy.

I worked for them once and would NOT recommend it!

I've spent a fair bit of time at the Kędzierzyn Koźle train station on numerous occasions. I like the communist mural up on the wall and the graffiti on the wall in the tunnel:
Od protestu do oporu
Od samoobrony do samostanowienia
