Hi all
I'm having to start thinking about the summer trip home and I am very curious about Oman Air. I arrived here on a Lufthansa flight and was disappointed not to have flown with one of the Gulf airlines. This summer, I am thinking (and hoping) to fly with Oman Air. I really like the idea of supporting the national airline but also, I expect it will be a better experience than any I've had on a western airline.
Anyone who has flown internationally with them, I would greatly appreciate your comments here about your experience. |

Bull.
Two of the world's most oppressive regimes in China and Russia are responsible for appalling (still existing) state airlines. The Chinese wouldn't even announce a crash unless a foreigner was involved, although probably different these days.
I doubt I'd ever get on an African plane, unless desperate.
I used Qatar airlines recently and it was a perfect example of 'don't believe the advert'. OK, the girls were pretty but nothing else was. |

I've flown on it internationally and it was fine. Internally it's a bit of a let down. Yes, I've experienced the no ac on the domestic flight; they told me it was because they'd just started the engine! Oh Dear!
Don't believe all the adverts you read about these airlines. If you're travelling in Business or First class then it might be much better, otherwise I think they are all the same.  |

So, Saudia is better than Emirates and Air Koryo beats them all?
And which of KLM, Lufthansa, British Airways or Finnair ranks first then?
And Qantas, as the Aussies are so laid back, must be the worst of all. |

| I do a two leg journey home each year - Oman Air followed by Emirates. The short Oman Air flight is always a problem - either food, delays or seating and downright lies as excuses at times (eg we don't serve vegetarian meals in this sector, window seats cannot be booked once an Omani friend sits on the seat marked on your boarding pass) - they need air inspectors to keep them on their toes. Emirates have always been fine. |

There, there... Chill out a bit with the sarcasm.
At about 195 cm height, I prefer to fly premium economy with Qantas and BA because of the comfort!
Emirates 5 times were all too tough to take, so I do not want to try them anymore. Tight seating - kinda like a sardine in a John West tin can. Uncomfortable on a 7.5 hour sector flight.
Sri Lankan business class is a better set of flights than any Emirates economy flight I have been on - comfortable and excellent food and service. Also, less expensive than Emirates...
But, as is usual in such discussions, everyone has their opinion, especially the trolls! |

| My one and only upgrade EVER on ANY airline was on OmanAir... and it was a marvellous flight! Mind you, first class may be marvellous on any airline... |

| Oman Air are delightful. One of the airlines left with crew that remember the passenger is to be treated withr respect, i.e. the antithesis of Virgin Air. |
