Hi, 2 really simple questions:

1) are teaching opportunities greater in northern, central, or southern Italy

2) which cities specifically are good places to find work

thank you for the insight

Illegal work for a non-EU citizen, with just a basic generic TEFL certification, you mean, right?
You'll get better advice if you clarify exactly where you stand in the job market competion.

A quick look at the jobs board or TEFL.com will tell you where the jobs are:

The following cities often have postings on the web: Milan, Verona, Genoa, Trieste, Florence, Rome, Naples, Palermo/Trapani.

Most schools hire in September or October but there are jobs going year-round.

Most schools require you to be an EU citizen, have a CELTA and a bachelor's degree.

Schools in the north may stick to these requirements more than in the south but if the southern school you're applying for is contracted to do EU-funded courses (only the south qualifies for these courses) then those 3 qualities will be a must.

Generally at the moment there seem to be more opportunities in the south as EU-funding for educational courses runs out in a few years time so schools are rushing to get as much EU cash as they can.
