Hi, I am currently in Belgium trying to find my first teaching job. I am not an EU citizen, which obviously makes things difficuly. I am wondering if anyone is aware of a country here in western Europe where a person can obtain a student visa (in the country, or in a neighboring country) to take a course studying the local lanaguage? Perferably, a visa that would also allow for at least part-time employment teaching English would be ideal, but I guess one might be able to survive just giving private lessons under the table as well...... thanks |

Spain. Check that forum where there has been discussion about doing this. I've learned about two TEFL providers (TtMadrid and EBC International) that offer a combo program of TEFL course, Spanish language/culture, student VISA and job search assistance. |

The UK allows you to work if you are enrolled on a full-time course (Tier 4 student visa i think). (20 hours a week, but changing to 10 soon i think). |
