Yeah, wasn't it great. That's the answer to the monied elite - give them a good kicking. That should solve the rich/poor divide.

as an Italian I don't find it good he got 'smashed-in' whatever he is or people think of him violence is not the answer... it makes 'us' look as bad as him in the eyes of the world... What message are we sending out about Italians to the rest of the world

Update on Berlusconi from today's Telegraph...

It is a shame that he is such a clown as by association it does reflect somewhat poorly on his country and its people. But this is a man that they did themselves vote into office on no fewer than three separate occasions.

Perhaps vote manipulation contributed to his ascension to power, but who really knows. I'm sure that by the third time he was voted in, in the mind of many Italians it was simply a case of better the devil you know.

Man, time is flying. Was that comedic incident really so long ago?
Some said that it was a bit of a 'set-up' to try and get sympathy for the criminal.

Who knows the real truth.

Berlusconi is the prime representative of a country. That description also works without the final syllable.
