Just before I left Q a new school, Compass International, opened up. It catered mainly to Dutch students. I've heard that after a pretty good start, it also has started going downhill. Another place where they manipulate teachers and don't respect them. Instead of being straight with teachers about their contracts, they play games. Not good for either the school or the teachers. Parents want continuity (now that I'm a dad myself, I will be paying a lot attention to private schools) and reliable teachers. Admins who play games with teachers and tell them maybe you'll get renewed, maybe you won't - don't count on a job next year - are clearly not the right kind of people who should be running a school. Compass has a good international rep but if the things I heard last night about it continue, it will be another deadly deal for teachers. |
