sighs. it saddens me to have been right about this school (see other threads for more info), and this school is a worst case scenario for any esl instructor, though specific occurences are fairly widespread throughout northern iraq, and PARTICULARLY erbil. i found this blog: http://www.everlater.com/dvouri/living-in-erbil/erbil-iraq
detailing one teacher's experience with ais-k. the last entry is particularly harrowing. in the end, the lesson is to research thoroughly, and talk to people who are working and living in the region right now. forewarned is forearmed. |
