Hello,
After doing a bit of research, I found out that it's possible to work with children in Colombia in maybe colegios or bilingual schools.
While teaching, I'm looking to complete a (mostly) online Florida teacher certification program. This program would require me to shadow a certified teacher for a few hours a week at probably another school.
I was wondering if teaching schedules allowed for that in Colombia?
I would be coming in with a bachelor's degree two years of full-time ESL experience with children from Korea. My Spanish is also pretty advanced, having studied it in school and in Argentina.
Any help or advice would be great! |

I worked at a school that allowed some teachers to work Mon-Thurs so they could travel to another city on Fridays to take Master's degree courses over the weekend. I believe this is a policy that particularly school has now discontinued. In the end it would be up to the individual school you'd be working at.
I would try decide what's more more important to you: teaching in Colombia or getting the certification. If getting the certification is more important, I wouldn't come here just assuming you'll get a position at a school that will offer you that flexibility. |

I see. It looks like I might have to work at an institute teaching adults for a year before teaching children then. From reading around, it looks like if you're at an institute, there will be guaranteed gaps in your schedule every month. Thanks for the input! |
