Hi all,

Id like to use parts of some of these videos with my classes, but the Internet connection in my classroom is spotty at best so I cant count on being able to stream them directly when I need them:
http://edition.cnn.com/US/studentnews/quick.guide/archive/

Id like to download and save them on a flash drive (USB drive), but theyre RSS Feeds (whatever that means). So, my question is: can I save them to my hard drive, and if so, how? Right click --> save target as doesnt seem to be working.

Thanks.

They're flash videos. You can't right-click and download them - that's one of the points of flash. You'll need a plug-in for your browser that enables capturing the stream, and a video player capable of playing .flv video.

Which browser do you use?

I'm using Internet Explorer (IE). IE is also installed on all the school machines. Is there a plug-in for that? I'll google it. Thanks.

===edit ===
Downloaded a plugin off Cnet (15 day free trial). Seems to work pretty well. I assume any machine running IE will be able to play flash videos, correct?

I take it back it doesnt work (Save Flash trial version). It just downloads 17KB black screen -- about the size of a postage stamp then Flash tells me to change my security settings to allow downloads from the site (which I do) and it still doesnt work.

Bleh.
