Is anyone here familiar with the current market in Montreal? I'm looking to get back into teaching ESL and I am new to Montreal (south shore). Part-time/volunteer work okay, I just need to get my foot in the door. I graduated in 2009 after my degree/certificate/practicum but took a few years off.

Bump! Smile I am still looking. All positions seem to require bilingualism (fair enough) so it's a struggle. I am quickly improving my French Very Happy but it's going to take me time.

I worked at a language school called Pointe-3 about 14 years ago, but I understand they are still going strong. You will find the staff names on the website - I believe the school is owned by Yuriko Nadeau who is half Japanese and half French-Canadian. She might not remember me after all this time!

I got my job there by faxing my resume, and then confirming receipt by phone. They didn't set up an interview over the phone, so I dropped by a couple of days later in person to let them know I sent a resume and if they have any ESL position available.

There is also a good language school called GEOS Montreal.

Thanks very much timothypfox! Smile I appreciate it. I also sent off an email to the English school board recently (asking about volunteer work) and he asked for my resume in return so who knows... Laughing Montreal is a tough market!
