I file taxes and just recently started paying. I don't mind. It's less than 200 a year and goes towards roads, education, and stuff. I've also gotten money back from the IRS, so it's a two way street. |
What was that humourous neologism again? "Intaxication"! The feeling of euphoria a citizen experiences upon receiving a tax rebate and which lasts until the realisation that it was his own money being returned to him in the first place.
...and stuff? Weapons and military adventures in the Middle East? That stuff? |

They did answer, and they told me that it will likely help to have permanent residency, but that the degree to which it's helpful will depend upon the second country's own laws -- pretty much what Spiral said. |

I suppose that's fair enough -they can't really be expected to know the laws of all EU members. It's very nice of you to keep us posted on what you learn, Larry. Helpful for others in the same situation - |

Intaxication? Ouch! I've just recently been presented with a large tax bill to pay. This is one govt. body you just never want to hear from. However, a considerable amount was reduced by what would've been a rebate. I ended up feeling pleased and relieved to be left with a smallish bill to pay until I read this!
There is something rather '1984' about that. |

SE taxes have gone down this year, so I'll probably owe less than 100 bucks. |
