Hi everyone

Once again, I'm posting on behalf of my friend who teaches middle school History here in the U.S. She's been contacted for an interview by the Dubai American Academy and I think she should go for it. This school provides IB courses, something she really needs to familiarize herself with as a teacher if she's going to one day end up where she wants to be in Europe.

But I know nothing about the school, or about American Int'l schools in the UAE in general. Anyone with information, contacts or even children in this school who could give some feedback?

Generally when you hear American curriculum schools for secondary in the gulf you should run away.

If you decide to investigate further, you really need to ask about American accreditation. Which accreditation board did they use, how long ago, etc.

Most US "curriculum" schools are not accredited. In fact, the American Curriculum schools are usually where the students who can't do the British IGCSE and A a/s levels go to get "diplomas."

With that said though, the Dubai American Academy is the ONLY American accredited school to be awarded an outstanding rating.

It is the BEST American curriculum school in Dubai. Of course there will be plenty of Brits who will look down on it because it is American, but it is still the BEST american school.
