Hello,

I looked through the thread and couldn't find an answer to this question. I am a non native teacher with CELTA and a bachelor's in education, native level of speaking, 4 years spent in USA, but I am from a non native speaking country. Is it possible to get a job in Taiwan? I mean legally of course?

Thank you

It's possible if you have a passport from a country where English is an official language.

I've met a Russian teaching English on a Canadian passport, and a Pole teaching on an American passport.

I wouldn't count on being able to work in Taiwan as an English teacher.

I'm an American citizen with an American passport, but was initially refused a visa because I was born in the Netherlands. Only after we convinced immigration that I was a "real American" (born to two American parents in Den Haag), did they issue the visa...

So...I think your chances are pretty low.

I really appreciate the input! Now I can narrow my choices. Thanks!
