I once was told that:

The max amount of time that one can spend on a tourist visa in Colombia was 6 months, but that it applied to calendar years. So, in theory... if the hypothetical tourist arrived in the second half of year, say July then they could stay up to a year (with the tourist visa time starting up again in January).

That is exactly why im arriving in July/August
