Should we make an effort to write fairly accurately on Dave's?
Yes - it's a board for English language teachers, after all.

the people who post here simply need to know that their poor typing is not acceptable and that they should be prepared for a little flak
And as for the people who are giving them flak: If they make errors in the self-same posts where they're dishing out said flak -- whether it's because they're tired or busy with journal articles or whatever other reason -- then they should be prepared for some flak themselves. As I said, I voted No. 2, and I don't make a habit of commenting on others' writing. But in this case, I'll be first in line. And no, I'm not attacking you in particular, Glenski, because you are not the only one, by a longshot.

Attacks is not what this board is about.

Address the message and not the messenger or threads get locked or disappear and sanctions go forth.

One of these options is now being implemented and another will follow very soon as we have a few members that seem to find it impossible to participate in a thread without engaging in off-topic bickering and contributing to the thread having to be moderated.
